Chilling in Paradise (literally!)

We arrived in Paradise once again on Saturday without incident.  We hit the road early.  The new trailer towed PERECTLY.  We made it over the mountain in the heat of the day with NO problems.  We got all set up and settled on our "new" spot.  New because it's different than the spot we've spent the last four years on.  Our new trailer is TOO big for our usual spot, and so we are in a NEW spot in the back corner of the campground.  And the truth?  We LOVE it!!!!  It is FANTASTIC!!!  We love that it is huge and off in the corner.  That noone is right in front of us is LOVELY beyond words.  We are right on the path to the dog run...but that has NOT been too bad.  The dogs seem to be settling in and are accepting the occasional passing of furry friends.  There is little to NO traffic back here in the back 40 and all in all...this site truly IS Paradise!!!  The only thing lacking in our little slice of Paradise is the warm sunshine.  Warm being the operative word.  It is downright CHILLY in Paradise, folks!  Like...long sleeves and wrapped up in a blanket kind of chilly!  Brrr!  We have YET to make it out to the beach.  Mostly because it's been gray and cold.  And that's just not inviting.  It's not fun to sit on the beach and shiver.  Believe me.  I've tried it!  I'm not concerned.  I am fairly optimistic that the sun will come out soon.  Blue skies will appear and the air WILL warm up.  We are hoping anyway!  In the meantime...I'm having to make sure that my laundry gets done every other day or so, so that I keep my warmedst duds all clean and ready.  Just in case the sun doesn't shine tomorrow!  While we haven't enjoyed any beach time so far, we HAVE enjoyed sleeping in under the dark and gray skies, fantastically cool morning runs, delicious mochas by the harbor and some good quality campfire time.  It's been fun to see old friends and just settle in to the rythm of summertime here in Paradise.  It's been such a treat after all the nonstop activity and bustle and stress of getting moved and settled into the new house.

Yesterday was the 4th of July and it was a BIG deal around the campground.  The Travel Channel was here in the campground filming for a show called Exposed.  They were focusing on the campground we stay in and all the activities and festivities.  And the campground really went ALL OUT for the occasion!  There was bicycle decorating, a bike parade, a dog brigade, face painting and nail painting.  There was a company making crepes fresh here in the park.  And an air of celebrating was most definitely in the air!  In addition to the park being featured, they interviewed two families here.  WE were one of those families!!!  Chris and I got fitted with microphones and gave an interview.  We gave a tour of our trailer to the camera crew and they filmed it all, asking about the features of our home away from home.  It was very exciting.  And VERY nerve wracking!  I much prefer to be BEHIND the camera and NOT in FRONT of it!!!!  The episode is supposed to air at the end of the month.  Sometime.  I do not know exactly when, though I am sure the campground will let us know.  They probably edited out ALL of the Roberts family.  Which would be just fine.  We were just honored that they even thought of us!  I guess we shall see at the end of the month, huh?

In closing...here are a few shots from 4th of July!  More to come soon,  I'm sure!

Face Painting!  Her favorite part of the 4th of July festivities!

All ready to rock the bike parade!

Happy 4th of July from Cooper!!!
